"Massive bombing campaign". Swell, operation Linebacker lives again 🙄. I can't imagine it having any positive effect. More likely, it will cause the Iranians to trust us even less and pull out of negotiations and stay out.

The administration just don't get that Iran is a very large country and has a population of ~90 million. All they have to do is survive to win. Take a look at Ukraine vs Russia. This administration is filled with the most dense staff ever; it's a wonder the white house hasn't sunk into the ground. <sigh>
The Iranian population is mostly (~80-90%) against the regime. The US is up against a well armed and trained regime, not the entire people, which is different than Ukraine where the majority are against Russia.

Here is his latest all caps rant:

Shorter version:

" SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!!!"

NATO is for defense. Too many cucks around this confused old man to explain this to him.
He tought that invading Afghanistan was an invasion... the idiotic moron forgot that USA GOT ATTACKED FIRST!!!!

He forgot the 9/11?

Or he didn't care about that IMPORTANT DETAIL!

So if I'm getting it right.. this is basically "I told them all I don't need them, insulted their militaries as being cowards and being of no help when they died to come to our aid. Why won't they help me fix what I broke without even talking to them about doing it first."

Seems reasonable.

True (AFAIK), but start bombing Iran's infrastructure and killing more civilians and the populace will want the state to do whatever it needs to do to make them safe.

This cabinet meeting is lol. They have no clue what to do.

At least it pretty much confirms reports about the Iranian term sheet.

It's like Barbary Pirates 2.0. Trump has destroued the idea of maritime freedom of navigation single blow. Anyone grumpy with drones can threaten and extract money from international trade through any number of choke points.

They said "What if the Houthis but they control 20% of global energy flows and the fertilizer 1/4th of the planet needs to survive?" and thought it was an acceptable risk to run because many warfightings and content.

Against leadership or not. Highly doubt any of them are thankful for the past month of military attacks
I know someone who managed to make it out of Tehran last week (through Armenia) and I asked her about that...she said the general sentiment she saw amongst her friends and family was appreciation of the regime being attacked...I don't think most people in the west realize how much ordinary people hate the regime. This is anecdotal of course. I've also met lots of Iranians in the last couple of years that live both inside and outside Iran and 99% of them hate the regime, and they were actually praying for the US/Israel to attack and take out the regime.

But yes if lots of civilians start getting killed then the sentiment might change.

I would not trust any polls that would suggest that. So much disinfo has been generated against Iran its hard to distinguish fact vs fiction in whatever info or data is out there.

A couple weeks ago I spoke to a colleague who's from Iran and his parents and a brother are still in Teheran. He was showing me videos of missiles and smoke etc that they sent him. I was surprised to learn that his family is nevertheless more in support of US attacks than against it. It's not that they like being bombed of course, but after 30-40K people killed in protests, they don't see a way to end this regime without external help. It aligns with the sentiment in thilanliyan's post pretty well.
So now I have some mixed feelings as well.

Keep in mind that the same observations occur in some US cities among specific segments of the population about the Trump regime. Same for Israel.
Many people I know hate Netanyahu and have protested in the streets.

Yet....
Here we are.

The Iranian regime recently killed thousands of it's own citizens. I can understand why the general population is not inclined to be in favor of the current regime. The citizens of Iran are probably also getting very sick and tired of the government corruption that has left them with dysfunctional infrastructure system including water.

The source for the 30K killed was just made up. I am sure they killed many citizens, but the one main number that showed up was propaganda.

Also, what are the people going to do, tackle the Iranian army before they shoot at American troops?

Oil and resources from the Gulf will take no less than 5-10 years to recover. And might never be the same.

France confirms oil crisis, says 30-40% Gulf energy infrastructure destroyed
At least, uh... hm.
What's the benefit here again? Keggy boy got to play in the sandbox? Our missile contractors get to build more missiles? Herr Trump and his cronies got to game the market?
This may not be the stupidest war in history, but it's gotta be on the list somewhere.
