Best Software to Clone Windows 10?

Hi Guys,
Whats the current software that people are using to clone Windows 10 from one SSD to another? I used to use boot into Acronis True Image or Symantec Ghost boot disk back in the day, but I don't think those work anymore what with EFI, secure boot, and that other new stuff. Thanks in advance!
 
I have always used TrueImage created Rescue Media. Just got the latest 2017 version. Cloned 10 with the 2015 version. No problems.
 
I've used Aomei partition assistant a lot and recently used Aomei backupper successfully. Both are free.
The Forum guys tend to suggest Macrium free.

Just tried to clone with acronis 2015 on the new win 10 build. Couldn't see the drive or partitions but could see the folder. Their FAQs show that this could be a problem but I don't remember why. I used Macrium on the fly, tested the new drive, worked well.

The acronis was free with the new parts so no great loss to me but I can't use it.
 
OK - sounds like you did not use bootable Rescue Media. I have cloned Win 10 several times - SSD to SSD, SSD to HDD, and HDD to SSD in my laptop using TI in bootable flash media. I will never even attempt to clone within Windows.
 
Maybe. I created it but don't remember if I tried that or the original cd. That was last week. I only have so many brain cells and vm virtual box has displaced acronis ones.
 
Macrium is great although it didn't seem to let me restore an image from a logical partition to a separate disk in primary partition form so it ended up with unallocated space before and after it. I ended up having to use active@ image for that yet active@ failed to make the bootable partition actually boot so I had to use both. This wouldn't apply to a 1:1 clone though, I'm sure any of them will do fine, I haven't had macrium fail to clone properly a bootable partition yet although I'm thinking of giving easeus todo a whirl.
 
Paragon here since Acronis 9 didn't support 8 when it came out. It's faster and easier to create bootable media with specialized storage drivers, i-scsi, ram-san, etc. 😉
 
I ended up using Macrium Reflect free to do a 1:1 clone on 2 occasions and it worked very well, thanks again!

Correct me if wrong, but MOST SSD vendors today will come with some Win cloning software. I also have the usual like Acronis TI, Paragon, AOMEI etc. but last time (as far as I remember) I simply used the Samsung software to clone my old HD to the SSD.
As for TI, I stopped using this a while ago (there was some problems which I don't recall, probably alignment related) and instead switched to Paragon.

The included versions don't include a boot disk maker.
And yes, back when I was using TI, restoring an image would result in improper alignment for SSD partitions.
 
Restoring an image is not the same as cloning. Cloning needs no restoration. IMHO, the ability to create bootable rescue media is essential for any good cloneware. I never clone from within Windows. Good cloning should not involve the OS.
 
Macrium can clone the boot drive from inside Windows - done is 4 times with no issues. Done it on my server when I upgraded from a C2D to a Sandy Bridge Xeon.
 
I've used Acronis and Clonezilla, but I prefer Macrium, from a USB thumb drive(do they still call them that?)
 
Acronis TI 2014 has worked with everything I've thrown at it. Use the boot disk and make sure to use the "Clone" function, not create/restore an image.
 
With every iteration of Acronis, it seems it is getting worse & more bloated.
The UI they are using is also getting way too "dumb downed", even if you try to go into advanced mode.
