Blood pressure: a video with (I think) good info demystifying the ideas of good, acceptable and ideal BP

Just watched this 8:01 video and it strikes me as very good. Myself, I have great BP and normal blood tests. I wonder about BP, it's the first thing they do when I see my PCP, test my BP and weigh me. But nobody has ever explained BP to me like this guy:

It's kind of funny...For decades, I smoked heavily...often 2 packs (40 cigarettes) per day, consumed at least a gallon of strong black coffee, worked a very stressful job, (crane operator) and commuted in/out of the SF Bay area...average 4-5 hours per day of just driving in that shit. My blood pressure never got above 140/75.
I blew out my knee and back...and I was off work, no more commuting, no more stressful job...and I quit smoking. My blood pressure went up--up--up, until my doc threw a fit when it was in the 200/100 range. "God Dammit, Boomer, You're going to have a stroke or an aneurism if we don't get this under control!" So...I relented...we tried a few different BP meds...some worked...but with side effects...ACE Inhibitor cough, edema in hands and feet, (hands looked like Mickey Mouse's hands from one med) and we finally got me on Atenolol...works fine, no obvious side effects. Doc visit yesterday...124/66. Not bad for a fat guy in his 70s.

I spend more time than I care for in the hospital...one of the things I learned in recent years is that a 100/70 blood pressure is now considered normal & healthy in most young, healthy adults.
