Question choosing the right RAM upgrade

Currently the CPU I have is G4560 and the 8+8 RAM kit I am using is GSkill F4-3200C16D-16GTZSK
Unless I buy another kit like that, considering several options depending on what is on sale I don't know how to decide, based on which parameter.
As a side question I would be interested to know also what to choose should I move to another CPU (i3-7100 or i5-7500, say).
Just as an example, the following kit:
Ballistix Sport LT BLS2K8G4D240FSB
is worse than what I have, but perhaps it wouldn't make any difference based on the CPu I have. Which parameter or detail should I consider to make the right decision?

Well, is there a reason why you feel that you need more than 16GB of RAM in that PC, but don't need to upgrade to a real quad-core, like an i5-7600?

Upgrading to a quad core or higher will give you more performance then increasing your memory.
