Please help me find the right 8 pin extension cable - 9070 xt - powercolor

I have a new 9070 xt but the cables to my power supply are a little short. I have two types of 8 pin extensions and neither fit.

The card looks like this.

The ones I bought (two types) both look like this. I bought them assuming they were all alike.



Is there a specific name for the extension cables I need? I admit I've never encountered this issue before.

Should be PCIe power as opposed to CPU power, often also called 6+2 pin. The one in picture looks like it is for CPU, 4+4 pin.

Compounding the confusion, not all extension cables are compatible with all brands and models of PSU. Some use their own pin layouts.

Good to know. I got lucky after I was informed about the 6+2 - the ones I got worked perfectly - whew!
