How To TPM IC and motherboard

Hello,

My motherboard does not have TPM IC onboard. Can I install a TPM card on this?
What feature should motherboard have to install TPM card on it?

I think only if it has a TPM port for an add-on board. I'm not sure if there exists "generic" PCI-E -connected TPM modules or not. I think that they have to connected directly to the chipset.

Now that I think of it, I think all AM4 CPUs support "fTPM" - firmware TPM. Meaning, it's built-in to the CPU (APU too?). I've seen the setting in my BIOS for it, on my Ryzen rigs.

The Intel boards with the TPM socket, it looks like a USB3.0 socket near the bottom edge of the board, but it's labeled "TPM".

You just need a TPM header (most boards have one) and an appropriate TPM module from a reputable manufacturer.

But you seldom need a TPM setup for personal use, so unless you have a specific need for it, there is little reason to bother.

Sure. But if you're unsure about what this is, I have a strong suspicion you don't need a TPM module at all. This is enterprise level stuff, and if that's the case, there should be an IT department to set it up for you.
