A call to boycott Nvidia games for ATI/AMD owners

While the corporations have the right to tweak their products as much they want, the end user has the right to decide what he buys or not.

This is an incomplete list of companies/games that not only exploit the Nvidia strengths but also cripple the ATI/AMD cards on purpose.

Ubisoft - Assassin's Creed
HAWX1&2
Capcom - Lost Planet 2
EA Digital Illusions
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2
- NFS
4A Games - Metro 2033
Digital Extremes - BioShock 2
Capcom - Lost Planet 2
Cryptic Studios - Star Trek Online

Stop buying their products, period.

I've been saying this for many years. Vote with your money (probably more important then actual vote for politics these days).

but also cripple the ATI/AMD cards on purpose.

Is that proven? I thought it was just a matter of nVidia working with these developers to make their games run well on their components, and AMD simply not being there to help the developers with their components.

I am sorry, but your list is total BS..

BF:BC2 .. CIV 5 are AMD gaming evolved titles.

The only games I can see is HAWX 2 and LP2.. which are crappy games to begin with.

If your an ATI owner, your already boycotting Nvidia - just in a different way. I have not bought nvidia in maybe 6 years. I am not boycotting nvidia on purpose, I just liked the performance of ati better when I made the switch.

I have an ATI 4850 and play metro2033 with no problems.

If a company wants to optimize their game for a certain video card, I dont see an issue with it - their just conducting business.

Just look at the bench.

The benchmark only shows AMD video cards performing worse, not why. It could be because the developers know of ways to optimize performance on nVidia hardware (because nVidia helped them). If AMD didn't get together with the developers and show them how to make the code more efficient on their hardware, then it wouldn't be as well optimized.

Not all those games run like crap on AMD hardware. I've only played AC, BFBC2, and Metro 2033 and they all run fine. I agree, I don't want ever to buy nV or ATI cards for specific games...that's ridiculous.

And you're basing that claim on what.. exactly? Is any game where Ati wins "obviously" crippled for Nvidia cards? And why does that even happen for games that are supported by Ati (dirt2)?

I respect your opinion, but you shouldn't just post something like this without proof to back it up. We could list a bunch of games that run on AMD hardware better such as F1 2010, but that doesn't mean AMD crippled the game for Nvidia hardware, does it?:\

😵 Lol.... I don't think so; and I prefer AMD. I've never had any problems on the games you listed. However, if something comes up, AMD is usually pretty good about addressing it. Most of those games listed work perfectly fine on my 5870.

What? HD 6970 worse than GTX 560? GTX 460/768 better than HD 5870/6870/6970? MWAHAHAHAHA.

That's not really proof of AMD being crippled intentionally though. Bear in mind, game graphics processing is all about optimization. Small changes in code can have big performance differences. Even if the AMD cards had the hardware to go fast, it means nothing if it isn't being used to it's potential. It doesn't necessarily mean that the developer is purposely limiting the AMD cards, it could very well be they don't know how to optimize their code for AMD cards as well as nVidia cards... and that has a lot to do with their interaction with the companies in question.

Please. Show me a bench similar with the one I posted, a HD 5770 being better than a GTX 570 or something. Post benches.
