I told you guys about the Muslim Ban Executive Order in advance, and many of you were skeptical, and yet the rumor turned out to be true, and now there are major rumors of a major LGBT Executive Order being drafted up right now.

The possible targets could include the following .....

- Allow taxpayer funding to groups that discriminate against LGBT individuals or groups
- Allow federally funded adoption agencies to discriminate against LGBT individuals and couples
- Eliminating non-discrimination to allow federal employers and contractors to be fired based on their sexual orientation or gender identity
- Allowing federal employees to discriminate against LGBT individuals and groups due to their own personal beliefs
- Declaring that gender is immutable at birth
- Potentially banning LGBT couples from adopting children

Yes, it can happen here, and not speaking out wont mean it wont happen. And I suppose some of you dont want to care because you are not in one of those specific groups targeted by the current executive orders.

I would think this would be a bridge too far, even for Turnip. The hate he would garner and reaction would be extreme. How do you justify something like this which amounts to theocratic bullshit based on religious mythologies in a country founded on the principle of secularism in government?

Tell that to the jihadists who are already using Trump's Executive Order to recruit more terrorists to kill Americans at home and abroad.
 
No Fern, they are not going more vetting, they are banned for 90 days. Most of them have already undergone vetting especially the green card holders. Banning people in the air who have passed all the requirements shows that the amateur hour has started. Trump is surely an amateur and not a very gifted one at that.

I'll repeat: It can't be a "Muslim" ban since only a small fraction of Muslims reside in the affected countries. The vast majority of Muslims (+90%) live in countries that are unaffected.

It's not a "ban" either. Merely, some countries are having more stringent vetting applied.

I've not previously heard what Giuliani said. This would be the first. In any case, what he said, assuming he did, is irrelevant because we have the facts. You can't ban "Muslims" unless you include a bunch of other countries. +90% of Muslims aren't even subject to the stricter requirements.

Pretty much what Uberneuman said Fern.

There is at least a Muslim delay until they give up trying to obtain asylum in the U.S. sure it may not technically be a ban but there are clever ways of achieving pretty much the same thing with creative wording.
If you don't think that it just happened under these new executive orders then we are living in different "realities"
It's only just that the one that you and Trump are in happens to be Bizzaro world.

Probably shouldn't have built a religious test into the EO and said that you'd have preferential treatment for Christians not to mention include an arbitrary list of countries you don't happen to do business with.

This is a limited Muslim ban by another name. Rudy just confirmed what any sane person knows to be true.
 
Fern, you're starting to sound like the Texas legislature and abortion: "We can't make abortion illegal so let's just put in heinous zoning, ultrasound, credentialing and burial requirements which have the effect of banning abortion."

"We can't ban Muslims so let's just put in a bunch of heinous travel requirements on people who we think might be Muslim so that nobody will want to come here."

Do you people even realize that the vast majority of Muslims aren't from Arab countries? Or do you people automatically think "Arab" when you hear the word "Muslim"? Is the Left that ignorant?
