"Kind Regards"

That phrase as an email closing/sign off in a customer service inquiry creeps me out. Almost certain to be someone outside the U.S.

Might not matter in many cases, but dealing with a bank, it kind of does.

I think it was my wife who suggested that I write my e-mails (to customers) more formally with an initial greeting of sorts and an appropriate sign off like "Kind regards". I tend to use KR if I feel that my tone in the body of the message could potentially be construed as negative, and otherwise I use "Regards" or "Thanks".

I don't frequently correspond with people, but this is as formal as I get...

Thank you,
firstl

Which is first name last initial all lower case. It's my handwritten(typed) "username". I don't use any of that for routine correspondence.

That's a fairly standard sign off from a business email. Why does it creep you out.

I always sign my work emails off with "Cheers, WelshBloke" but that's not to patients and no ones going to sack me over that!

On similar subject I noticed the new Outlook has a "react" feature now. If someone reacts to your email you get another email saying that they reacted to it. I just had one today at work and thought it was kind of funny. A whole email just to show a thumbs up emoji, and I had to manually enable images to see it. You'd think MS could have come up with a more integrated way of doing that like have the thumbs up just show up as an icon next to the email in your sent items folder.

Iphones do the same thing, I get texts that say the person reacted to my text. I guess between iphones maybe it just shows the react within the text instead of sending another text. Texting is such a hot mess though, wish they would just come up with an IP based protocol that is universal across all phones no matter what platform you're on. I think that was the idea behind RCS but don't think that really got anywhere and it's mostly controlled by Google. Doesn't work on custom roms either from what I read.

I use cheers most of the time. If you have a beverage handy you are set.
Email, the drinking game. Who knew?

Regards,

is how I roll. There was a sign-off I can't recall that actually did creep me out a bit. Something like "warmest wishes" or something like that. Just seemed way too intimate and inappropriate for a business email. Can't remember it now though.

My email sign off is:

Fuck yo mama pig c ock sucker!
-Mr. Squished

anybody know what amazing movie that line is from?

Please do the needful.
Every time I see that phrase the song "do the hustle" pops into my head. 🕺👂🪱:weary:

I usually sign off with...

Thanks!

Ken

But sometimes I'll add something to it. So in this case...

Gee, thanks! 😛

Ken

Best,

is a one I see a lot. Quick, concise, hard to beat. You won't see it on official posts though cause they're really saying "turn around and bend over." 😛

Nothing wrong with Kind Regards. I use it sometimes, I also use Best Regards and Thanks if I’m being a little less formal or Thank You.

I don't use anything to sign off at the bottom of my email. However I did put a quote at the bottom, it reads: "Please feel free to print this email, trees and paper are a renewable resource". Gets 'em every time.
