The Kia 2025 EV6 and 2026 EV9 EVs are about to gain plug & charge capabilities, meaning owners will be able to just plug their electric car into a charger and the charging session will begin without a need for a phone, credit card, apps, or any effort, just like Teslas at Superchargers:

 
Wife just bout a robot vacuum and it has lidar. Apparently they (lidars) are not all that expensive...

i would hope the difference in resolution and computing power between a lidar system in a home robot and one in a car is quite significant...

I am not suggesting they stick the same lidar from a vacuum on a car. I am saying the tech is cheap enough now to be found on a vacuum. It was 400 including tax.
 
I'm a huge fan of the ID.Buzz's styling, not so much the price or range. VW Canada just put a massive $21K discount on the hood!

$21k is roughly what the entire price should be. A VW bus should be an ultra-cheap, uninsulated rattle-trap, while remaining incredibly reliable.

Maybe they can get some pointers from the French?

If it was cheaper & had better range it would totally be my first choice for an EV right now!

Politics aside, the base Cybertruck is nearly $1,500/mo for just 325 miles. They really need to sell a 500-mile VW Camper bus lol.
 
This happened near me this week. A older person mistook the accelerator pedal for the brake on her IONIQ 6 and that poor Mazda need stood a chance. Once the tow truck driver was able to get the Mazda out of the tree, the IONIQ 6 was still drivable.

Living in an area with more biking and walking, and generally seeing how terribly people drive, it's pretty terrifying that Americans love heavier and faster accelerating vehicles and there has been effectively no movement to regulate that issue.

At least the Ioniq 6 isn't an SUV with a higher, more human-body—damaging hood.

It's a combination of speed, weight, and vehicle height.

Higher vehicles impart more forces to the center of the body and are more likely to push someone under to be crushed. Sedans and whatnot hit lower and tend to drive someone on to the hood.

Sure, EVs may be quickly becoming the norm in other parts of the globe, but this here's 'Murica — we don't need any of that commie BS like "breathable air."
