Golden Rule applies here. Treat others like you'd want to be treated. For me that's give a fair price, don't waste my time, and don't try and pull one over on me; you'll get what you give with me in terms of dealing with me in PMs too. My 100% positive Heatware (316 starting in 2003), eBay (471 starting in 1999), and FB Marketplace (5.0 starting in 2019) feedbacks speak for themselves.

GPU value has remained high, I don't know why anyone thinks sellers are highly motivated for a quick sale? If you are low balling them, they have many months before depreciation will make the card worth that little.
 
In the UK the 9070 and 9070XT seem to be coming down as well with some model selling for under £500 and £600 respectively.

Should make it a better match for the 5070 (£480) and 5070ti (£699) although you can get borderlands 4 bundled with these.


 
Am I dumb or has AMD not released anything close to competing with the 5090 yet? I don't keep up to date with hardware until it's coming time for upgrades/new builds, but seeing some of these prices, it looks like I can either spend almost $3,000 or less than $750 to get each brand's top of the line cards. I understand the 5090 has double the VRAM and higher core speeds, but hasn't AMD made anything competitive yet? I refuse to spend almost an entire paycheck on a single piece of hardware, so I won't be grabbing anything Nvidia has to offer for quite some time, but the RX 9070 XT feels like a downgrade to my overclocked 3090 Ti. Not to mention, the 3090 was released almost four years ago and according to benchmarking sites, it still outperforms AMD's newest card.

Is AMD trying to capitalize on being the economic value card or am I missing something here?

Why would they make a big chip? They did it one (1) time in the entire RDNA history.
They made a chip that competes with the 5070 Ti and they have to sell it at a lower price.

Of course they're going for some economic value. How are they going to justify making a 700mm² GB202 fighter if they only get 5% of the sales?

Still one wonders if they could "cheaply" put two GPUs on one card like they used to do in the old days. Maybe once LPDDR6 is cheap enough since the VRAM will have to be duplicated.

No, that would be useless. They need multiple chips working as a single GPU which means it won't be cheap. They have done it for other markets but gamers don't buy Radeon* so AMD has no incentive to actually build that. They will never make money building that for gamers. So they will never make it for gamers.

- That was kinda the goal of RDNA3, but the chips didn't clock high enough, AMD still couldn't get two GCDs to act as one, and any cost savings from higher yields got eaten up in additional packaging costs/complexities of GCD/MCD/Interposter etc.

Nvidia beat AMD's 530mm2 silicon with their 380mm2 silicon die.

Hell, basically the entire original RDNA4 lineup above N44 was scrapped and replaced by the N48 9070XT because the chiplet approach just wasn't a viable strategy for consumer grade parts at the prices people will pay for AMD grade hardware.
 
They could put two GPU chips back to back and water cool it with an AIO but yeah, not many people will buy that. Nvidia has ruined the market of gamers who used to buy unique hardware for the fun of it and turned them into pragmatic zombies.

Yeah only enterprise cards does this and only because such workloads are usually embarrassingly easy to parallelise.

AMD does have a 32GB card out now if you want the vram. The AMD Radeon AI Pro R9700 may be available in your neck of the woods. It is in Australia.

Not my neck of the woods. And it was more along the lines of curiosity after looking at the market. It struck me as odd that AMD was pushing out decently-priced cards while Nvidia is still hoping people will take out a second mortgage just to upgrade their PC.

Bull💩. 9070XT is significantly faster than a 3090ti. Not a worthwhile upgrade though, I'd wait another generation and see what all 3 vendors have. DLSS transformer should be enough to keep a 3090tie in the mix until then.
