SpaceX launch from Vandenberg last night as seen from Tucson. It is different from previous pics as moonlight was illuminating the plume in this pic and the trajectory was more southwesterly than the southeasterly direction of prior launches. The rocket is somewhere in the range of 400-450 miles away in the photo, well off the coast of Baja California.

Just got back from a trip to the Florida Keys and we did some snorkeling while we were there.

I purchased a cheap under water camera off Amazon to try and get some pics. This is my first attempt at taking pictures under water so go easy on me......I know they aren't great but it was still fun doing underwater photography.

They were taken at Horseshoe Cove on West Summerland Key.

@bbhaag - From my experience, all you really need to make your UW pics pop is, if possible, adding a red filter to your setup and in this instance, removing haze in post in your favorite photo editor. Your shots look really cool with the reflections and other features you captured in them. I just filtered your shot in red and did a quickie haze reduction in PS to give you an idea what a red filter can do to your UW pics.

I hope you don't mind my editing your pic. Just wanted to show you what standard UW red filtering can do. Most UW cameras and Go Pros have these filters as accessories.

Wow! That is like an almost completely different photo. Thanks for the tips on the red filter and using PS to reduce the haze. I'll look to see if I can get a filter for the camera I purchased.

Those filters usually come in a kit with different colors for different situations, especially for the times you want to go an atmosphere or deeper to get the images you have a mind for, or using flash, bouncing light, etc. I give you props for the way you composed your shots though. Makes viewing them a lot more interesting and enjoyable. I admit I am in a way both envious and pleased that you're posting UW shots because I can't go diving anymore due to my blowing out both eardrums years ago going tank diving way too often and way to deep. ENT Doc says my tinnitus could get unbearable if I abuse the surgically repaired punctured eardrums I had done awhile back. Most I can do now is the classic tourist surface flopper fin paddling around calm ocean waters. I can still surf though.

Amazing! Thats bucket list stuff. How much did yours cost if you dont mind me asking?
 
We used Silverseas for the cruise and another travel agency for the rest. Ours was 18 days and we had the cheapest cabin. The cruise was about $19,500 per person. Flights another $4,000 or so to Santiago. However that includes everything, food and drinks and tips already paid. There are things I'd do differently, and some things we did well. I'll offer a few tips below.

-we stayed in the lowest cost cabin, and wouldn't spend more next time. For the cost of a "better" cabin they are not much larger, and you don't spend a lot of time in it anyway, think of it like a hotel room. If you can afford a suite go for it, but if not you'll be fine.

-it wasn't as cold as we thought, but we are from Wisconsin. We brought too many cold weather clothes, and not enough dressy clothes to save space. They give you a cold weather jacket and a waterproof bag for zodiac trips.

-we bought two new cameras for the trip, I'm going to sell one. Quite a few people only used their cell phones. Bring a spare cell phone if you have it, losing your phone during travel is devastating.

-they have a decent gym, bring workout clothes because you'll eat and drink a lot.

-there are shorter trips if you just want to say you went to Antarctica that avoid the Drake passage and are much shorter. However, it's once in a lifetime for most of us, so you have to visit the Falklands and South Georgia island as there is much more wildlife than Antarctica itself.

-bring Dramamine and cold medicine etc. on a small ship colds make there way around.

-if you are a single male traveler, these cruised have a lot of well to do single women on them lol.
 
Staying at home for awhile taking care of the wifey's ailment, so I had some time to mess around with Photoshop's AI generative fill feature. Grabbed a pic I took at our annual company party to see what I could see with the tech. Turns out I had some fun times with it.
