@Markfw Why lock the other thread?! There should be a thread for Skylake-X discussions. Just remove "Coffee Lake" from that thread's title and you can open it.
As I said, its too old and generalized, it was a join mod decision. If you think something is missing, please create a new thread. SPECIALIZED PLEASE

I understand the need for specialized threads, but since you chose to create this one are you going to update the OP with new info? The idea was already being touted and I believe someone even offered to create and maintain it iirc.

You should mention that the 8600k results are nonense and that they tested with OC, likely with 4500 Mhz @6C. This also explains the higher power usage.
So you;re fine with the OCed performance numbers but not the power or thermals at those clocks? As it stands the 8700k & 8600k are perfect at their stock clocks, OCing is mainly for enthusiasts anyway, most people do not OC their pc.

Idk what's exactly the meaning of stock? Turbo means increasing clock ,on other hand, "OC".
What's OC ? by Users or Processor ? some even believes OC means User because You're increasing clock.so those guys think If OC is done by Processor,It's not OC, rather It's turbo.What if you see crazy result? do you believe OC or Stock?

Did I say that? I'm not. This review is almost a complete failure. I guess there was some Multicore enhancement enabled in the Bios. But the big failure is their 8600k test, such a nonsense.

It has 50% more cores than a 7700k. Why would anyone think it would not run hotter and not use more power? The red power usage bar is obviously in an overclocked state but we don't know how high the OC was.

Anything above stock is overclocked. Pretty simple, imo.

4.4ghz for all six cores would be overclocked, for example, since 4.3/6 is stock.
4.6ghz for 4 cores would be overclocked, since 4.6/2 is stock.

Doesn't matter if it was manually done by the owner, or automatically done courtesy of board BIOS settings.

Both are overclocks.

~30-40 watts more than a 7700K under heavy/medium load is amazing if true, imo.

The red bar is the total system consumption while gaming. The green bar is the cpu at full load in a benchmark. The yellow is idle. All are platform numbers.
