Curse you Amazon! "Open Orders" removed with no substitute.

I usually have a half-dozen or more books and CDs pre-ordered. Until today under Orders I could choose Open Orders to see a list of them and remind myself what I'd pre-ordered and when it would be released.

No longer. Pre-orders are only viewable through the regular order and digital order tabs, and there is no sorting / filtering option to show any pre-orders.

Amazon is like Google with no email or web form submission allowed so there is no good way to complain about this to customer service. They know best, you will obey.

This is far too important to go into the first world problems thread. Serious business!

Ignorance, something that makes it's way into the lives of the ignorant. Try calling them--or have them call you. And you can email Jeff and a human WILL respond to you. I've done this.

Their chat and phone number reps are pretty helpful, actually.

Yes, I've gotten great responses from customer service about problems with an order, or long ago when I ordered the Kindle 2 right before the price dropped. But this was already after hours when I noticed, and it's a feature change rather than a problem.

I realize I could find a back door to email my complaint to, but it's annoying that like Google they've made it difficult to use email (or a contact form) as a standard way of contacting them. I'd prefer to explain my problem in detail and have it forwarded to the right person instead of having a level-1 script reader try to "solve my problem" when they have no way of doing that.

Yeah what the heck is the reason for that? Especially when they seemingly kept the logic there to filter by Open Orders (jakuum's link).

Probably committing some site changes in preparation for the holiday selling season. I noticed they also futzed with review helpfulness tagging, but it appears it's now reverted back to "helpful / non-helpful."
For a day or so it was a single "Helpful" button - no way to vote down a review.

Back door? It is widely published. Did you try to Google Jeff Bezos' email address?
