Dualshock 4 on Xbox One

Not entirely sure if this is legal or whatever, and I know it'll void the warranties but they expired years ago

I recently (today) broke my xbox one remote due to water damage and its irreparable, but I have a spare DS4.
Wanted to see if its possible to reprogram the DS4 to be an xbox one controller without the the of paid for software and hardware, just a simple rewrite of the software in the controller.

Is this possible? If so, how?
Google is full of people going on a spiel to sell their stuff rather than help

It communicates with the PS4 via bluetooth and the XB1 controller uses some proprietary communication protocol and the necessary hardware isn't there in other controllers. Plugged in it's possible to trick via adapters etc but beyond that I don't think it's possible.

Ah I see

Oh well I'll just find one at the car boot sales, controllers cost more than games these days its madness.

Haha I have an elite controller that cost $150 when it released for xb1. I do agree that the normal controllers are a little bit expensive these days.
