Uber sweet schadenfreude on Elon for not realizing until it was too late that his fucking around with Hitleresque politics cost him big time with his brand now being under six feet of swill and crap filled mud. That's something his multi-billions can't buy back.

Does he even really realize it? He subscribes to this idea that people who don't like him are NPCs - people with no agency and no reason to please, like a video game.

All his antics have shown is that the emperor has no clothes and that some people are finally getting off his hype wagon.

Knives Out/Glass Onion really pinned the lead character perfectly - a Musk-like rich person of comparable moral and intellectual character (ie, a grifter that people think is smart but just throw money at things).

At the time I was just thinking about his brand being stomped into dust being one of the top reasons why he's taking a bow off the big stage and shlepping backward behind the curtains into the nether world of producing and directing the Trump Party Comedy Hour.

It's really another parallel with Adolf and his gang. Most of them were heavy users of pharmacuticals. Arguably similar types of drug, as well.

You'd think, though, if anyone could give a boost to the "just say no" thing and make drugs uncool it would be this lot.

I mean, I've been popped in the face a few times when playing with kids, but even when a five year old got me with a foot to the eye coming off a zipline and breaking my glasses, I didn't have a black eye.
 
Musk was foolish to hitch his cart to trump, doing an about face at this point seems equally as foolish to me. I don't see how he can rehabilitate himself in the eyes of the left. I think his only out is to just shut up and sit down.

I think he 1) discovered that losing the EV credits would in fact be very bad for his now struggling car biz (as are tariffs) 2) made too many enemies of like every other single person in the Trump admin.
