Intel core i5 4690 vs 3570k for gaming.

So, as I've written on the title,
I have a friend who has the intel core i5 3570k,
he told me that he doesn't overclock at all ( he just bought it a couple of years ago with a huge psu ).

I tried oc the 3570k and got a stable 4.6 - 4.7 ghz.
My question is, for gaming, is the i5 3570k with 4.6 ghz clock better
or does the 4690 have a couple of advantages ( because it's newer )?

IPC gain from IB to Haswell was only about 10%, and neither has hyperthreading, so I would give a slight edge to the overclocked 3570k.

Edit: The 4690 would also require a new motherboard. A better upgrade would be to a 3770k, which would give you the benefits of hyperthreading, which is helpful in some newer games.

Thanks dude!
What I mean is that I have 2 systems ( what I have and what my friend has ). So if I swap with him I get the whole pc ( mobo, ram all ).
So I'll go with the 3570k ^_^ thx!
