Iranian Revolution in 2022/2026?

Hardliners in both Iran and the US are likely coming to the same conclusion that restarting the hot war is preferable at this point. Ultimately US insistence that things return to status quo ante and Iranian refusal to do so creates an unsolvable problem. Probably should have thought about starting this thing a bit more since there really is no "undo" button here.
A 'HOT' war will be insufferable choice. I think we will need to switch to less precise weapons (since we are running low on our best and very expensive munitions) if we want to continue an air campaign. We do have the BLU_1xx series, but those would increase collateral damage. I don't know if we still use the MK_8x series. And really, if we want to end this thing - a ground war with a massive build up and hence lead time (which would be insane and intolerable to the US public, IMO).

Here is a good Youtube video on the situation where Dr. Galloway interviews Dr. Ian Bremmer (President of the Eurasia Group). First 25 minutes is Iran (then 10 minutes on Ukraine, then miscellaneous other topics). It is ~1h long. Ian suggests it would be better to walk away if I understood him correctly; although that seems untenable as well. Apparently, the military advice given to Trump and team was flawed as well (a number of surprises to US central command). This is such a monumental cluster f*ck!!

Anyways, for anyone who is interested in the assessment of much, much smarter people than I:

-At the wizened old age of 41 I've just come to accept that some minds are just alien to me and I'll never understand the logic or reasoning that goes into the belief structure.
While there are of course a bunch of irredeemable assholes who should be launched into the sun because they love this shit I think we shouldn't overlook the fact that a lot of people simply do not pay attention to the news almost at all and reflexively support their team.

- Or just as likely, they simply haven't been hurt badly enough by poor policy decisions.

The Resolute Desk does not have any "make voters like the economy" buttons but it has a number of very large "make voters angry at you personally" buttons.

First time for a while that it was the same price as the last time I filled up $6.69 for diesel at Costco. Of course now I fill up when my tank is only down 1/4 tank, so the spacing was probably less than a week.

True (well, not sure about the launching into the sun bit - that would be expensive, and maybe even unjust ).

There were many things I wasn't following well enough with this administration. I expected Trump 1.2 - we got trump 4.0. No guard rails, no modest debates that let 'Trump be Trump'. Gah 🤮. He is a freaking wrecking ball that randomly changes direction. After a bunch of disappointments, the Iran war finally pushed me over the edge and I chose to speak my mind here for now. Aside from that - I only have my personal votes to help right the ship of state.

As to those who more slavishly follow him - those who only follow right wing social media and watch Faux News, probably think he is doing a great job. Mass market news outlets just plain suck at doing their job. Many people seem to have a need for someone to speak for them, Trump is their guy.

If Trump was upset the Euros would not just do as he wants before he's not going to like what happens when US influence gets reduced to functionally zero.

I never had a moments doubt that his second term would be the shitshow we are experiencing.
