Purchases cable to access my drives firmware.

More detail needed.

What type of drive?
What type of computer is it in?

what do you want to do with the firmware? update?
 
Apart from updating the firmware (which does not need a special cable, just connect it to the computer normally), there shouldn't be any need to directly access the firmware code on a drive..
 
It is probably something like a seagate drive from 7-10 years ago, which had that problem where they froze up and couldnt be accessed without doing some hack that required a special cable.
