Ryzen OC + Battlefield 1 audio issue

If this audio issue you are having is happening only when you overclock your CPU then there's your answer. If you want your system to run reliably you should not be overclocking anyways and it complicates the troubleshooting process.

Yup, as soon as I disable my Ryzen Master OC the audio works fine. The audio continues to work with a light OC in the BIOS.
So this issue is limited to ASUS boards? Don't believe anyone else has reported this for other boards. And it happens with sound card, not just onboard!

That's one of the most stupid replies I've seen in ages.
  • This happens even if you only overclock 25Mhz. The CPU itself will boost way beyond that normally.
  • Overclocking via the BIOS even to high levels produces a stable audio in this game.
  • Only when overclocking via a windows application in this game is the problem showing itself.
  • There's obviously something wrong with the way the applicable applies the changes which should be addressed.
  • The troubleshooting here is because it only occurs during overclocking, even slight amounts.
You obviously read nothing of this issue and decided to post a stupid response basically telling us that no one should ever overclock because it might cause problems. Let's all sell our custom built PC's and buy prebuilt Dells.

He probably means to Not say Ryzen has an issue if it's overclocked beyond the factory validated auto specs. XFR is an auto-spec not manual overclock.

New BIOS 0511, still same issue. Tried with Ryzen Master as well with HPET to no avail.

Anyone with a Ryzen system and Battlefield 1 but NOT Asus motherboard able to test this?

I had the same issues with ryzen master and a Gigabyte Gaming 3. OC in Bios only is not an option for me because it doesn't OC my Ram at all there. I can only OC my Ram to 2933 mhz in windows.
I seem to have solved the issue by using EasyTune instead. I don't know if that works with non-gigabyte boards or if asus has a similar app.

ASUS has a similar app but it causes the same problem and was actually how the issue was first discovered.

Having same issues.

I can hear my player breathing and all the other sound apart from breathing cuts out intermittently.

Ryzen 7 1700 and Gigabyte gaming 3 overclocked to 3.8

Also having the same issue here only with BF4.

Stock clocks everything is fine. Overclock and sound cuts in and out when playing BF4. Just like OP. Been using Ryzen Master so I may give BIOS overclocking a shot and see if it helps.

OS is up to date and patched as is the game.

It's the AGESA code version. Try updating your bios to a version with 1.0.0.3b. That's what fixed it for me and my 1600. Experiment though to find what works for you.

Edit:
The AGESA version that personally 100% caused the issue for me was 1.0.0.1

Yep it started affecting a lot more people and a year later EA finally acknowledged the thread existence and sent it to their engineers. Next AGESA fixed the issue as people replied to my thread and my video advising it was working now after BIOS update.

Thanks for posting here, I forgot about this thread as well.

It's across all boards still sadly. I've heard good things about 1.0.0.3b+. ASRock is incredibly slow getting this to us. Waiting patiently as I'd like to go back to overclocking with pstates.
