Hi,

Actually, i have been using my dual core computer with 1 GB RAM. It was happy with me but now I am using coral draw which is quite heavy.

Should I buy new PC with the latest technology or upgrade the RAM with 2 GB ?

Any computer that came with 1 GB RAM is likely significantly under powered for anything more than very casual work in Corel Draw. Adobe lists 2GB as the minimum amount of RAM needed to run version X7 of the Corel suite, so even with the 2GB you'd still be at the low end of the system requirements for the program. Even the cheapest new computer you can buy right now (like this $300 PC from Dell, for example) will be far superior to your current computer in every possible way. It will cost a bit more than the RAM, but will also give you much better results.

For $150 you can build a quad core, 8 Gig memory, fast video card (GT 610?), dual monitor, computer. I've built four of them.

The difference between that and what you have now would be like drinking bath water vs fine Scotch.

I'd pull for a new 4gb build with a 1GB firepro card... 8gb is unnecessary for corel draw or photoshop. what size monitor?

if you're looking to enter 3d land, go with at least 8gb ddr3 and a 2GB workstation card

also, this should prob be moved out of the PSU forum and into mem or general hardware

I have to ask: what are the rest of the specs of your PC? Can't say I've been near a 1GB PC since as far back as I can remember, which makes me suspect it's old. Is it a laptop or desktop? Either way, you're more than likely best off with a new PC.

This is a rhetorical question right? If you really are running a PC with only 1GB of ram, then there is no 'Upgrade' options. You should be looking at a whole new computer. What you have now is barely adequate for web-browsing and word processing.
