It should not be defensible to anyone that a President of the United States presents to the public an opinion about a concrete past happening as if it were fact.

He lacks the capacity to understand the effects of his behavior, or at least appreciate how others would interpret them. Such a disconnect may be inconsequential in a corporate setting where every knee must bow so to speak, but it does not matter in the external world in which the rest of us live. One thing is for certain, I do not envy him his upbringing.

Especially when he is in possession of the information that would either prove or disprove that opinion.

He is either behaviorally or biologically unable to self monitor. That is what I was thinking when I said I didn't envy his upbringing. His parents must not have exposed him to proper behaviors as a youth. Consequently he says stupid shit which you and I would never do without concrete proof in hand at the time of disclosure. I would hate to be a staffer that has to constantly twist words so as to appease Trump and provide any rational explanation to the press and public.

There are many things that I could offer that might be valuable insights into his psychological makeup. Aside from ethical issues, I feel that doing so would not be prudent, which is why I made such a succinct statement. Such discussions or other discussions about the evidence that might support or detract from his opinion I think are unproductive in creating a useful dialog between different sides of this or any other issue surrounding Trump. I haven't seen anyone in this thread, for instance, budge from their initial stance.

Thus, I will hope to turn our eyes to something that we can ally toward being a serious problem:
Trump passed as fact a statement that even he is able to identify as opinion. This statement could not be mistaken for a statement of a belief. It is clearly and concretely stated and pertains to a past event rather than a projected future. It could not, to my estimation, be seen as anything other than malfeasance even if it is eventually found to be objectively true. I would happily hear counter-arguments.

It would be difficult to make an opposing point based on Trump's statements and the commonly understood meaning of words. What I think unfortunate is that the interviewer didn't say that opinions weren't important but facts pertaining to the matter and there are no alternatives to them.

He's probably always been an impulsive buffoon to some extent, but I'm convinced his advanced age has had some deleterious effects that have made him worse.

"I don't stand by anything."

I can't shake that sentence from my head. He took an oath of office. He's the goddamn president.

Imagine the Obama parrots that would have been in here in legion for the last day and a half with dozens of threads, and hundreds of crappy internet memes, if Obama said some shit like that. Imagine--lol, and every single one of them is a Trump voter or Trumpapologist. 😀

--as an aside--interchange--I really like your position on all of this: very measured, very studious, very fair. Very...precise, but I just can't help it and be obnoxiously bold sometimes, anyhoo--

This Fascist, Prolapsed Rectum of a human president and his army of dessicated and mewling dingle-berry supporters are a serious threat to this nation, to the concept of democracy, and perhaps, to humanity. And yet, the "second amendment folks" out there stand by, too cowardly to accept their "sacred duty." (this season, anyway) 😉

It's okay. His loyal followers stand by the same motto: "I don't stand by anything."

The deplorables knew exactly who they elected. This whole election was about Obama. They chose the one guy who lied about Obama's birth certificate. The one guy who is the complete opposite of President Obama.

Sad really. Considering how well received Obama still is around the World, but the current guy is making a joke out of this country. Now we are no longer the leader of free World, Germany and Merkel has taken that lead. The deplorables don't seem to care one bit, as long as they get their revenge. How dare we elected a black guy into the White House.

Good weekend to throw this out with the trash:
Trump's Claim That Obama Wiretapped His Campaign is False: U.S. Department of Justice

By this I hope you mean orange boy.

So all you Trump people, what was he doing? He was either lying or crazy. If there is another option let's here it.

I so wish Obama would sue Dump for slander but I know he's to classy to go there.

Also a false accusation of a felony in itself is a crime. Maybe New York AG can prosecute once he leaves or is kicked out.
