What is a full color hologram without scanlines called?

In the original Star Wars trilogy the holograms were blue and had scanlines. In the Force Awakens, Snoke communicates with Kylo Ren the hologram of Snoke is full color and almost like a real image. Obviously it’s fiction, but could we create a hologram like that someday that would be a perfect image? What kind of image is that?
