Question What is best Server RAM for Synology NAS

Hey;

Have a Synology NAS RS2818RP+, as per their website they state to use their ram which costs around 370USD for 16GB DDR4 2666MHz ECC UDIM. I have found the same specs manufactured by Samsung and Micron for 108USD.

Is there a specific manufacturer that are deemed the best for server RAM?

Like for PC Ram usually you can go wrong with Corsair, GSKill, Crucial and Kingston.

Make sure its ECC and not regular.
Also make sure its a udimm and not again RDIMm.

UDIMM means Unbuffered.... RD "Registered" is for dual socket servers.
And most definitely get ECC.


For server ram, i prefer Samsung / Micron / Hynix. I would avoid no name ones which leak from china.
