What's a 'strange' pizza topping that you ended up using often?

I finally got a jar of anchovies at the store and tried them last week. Not a fan because of how darn salty they are.

But that left me wondering, are there any - what a lot of people would call unusual - toppings that you tried on pizza that you ended up sticking with?

Broccoli. It sounds like a war crime to put that on pizza, but it's actually really good. Same with pickles. Yes, pickles. Although I think the trick with pickles is also the sauce, as they use a different kind of sauce.

Pretty sure the Italian mafia just added my name on their kill list.

I like anchovies, but if I'm doing a custom pizza, it's almost always jalapeño and onion. Not weird I don't think, but maybe uncommon.

I'm normally a "you do you" sort of person about pizza toppings but broccoli and fucking pickles?!

That is not fucking ok!

pickle pizza actually works well....white sauce, dill, cheese and pickles

but i get it, not everyone likes the same things

i hate anchovies and would never eat a pizza with that on it, i wouldn't even bother picking that stuff off as the whole thing is ruined 😉

It's definitely a love/hate thing, and you're right. Once anchovies have been put on pizza, it'll always be an anchovy pizza, whether you want it or not :^D

I've seen "cheeseburger pizza" that has pickles on it. I've never eaten one, because I'll just eat a cheeseburger if I want a cheeseburger, or a pizza if I want a pizza. I do think ground beef is pretty "meh" as a pizza topping in general though.

Beef is bland. For meat, I stick to the classics, pepperoni or sausage, but I prefer vegetarian. Vegetarian pizza is first rate, and meat isn't required.
I'm with you primarily. I don't pick meat heavy pies. Sure sometimes a peperoni slice is nice, but the best meat in a pie is in a classic peppers, onions, mushrooms, and sausage crumble. The sausage works there but within the setting of the veg. Otherwise I too also pick veggie only pies.

Except for, and I know father for I have sinned, the only Dominos pie I've ordered in decades, and not more than five times, the philly cheesesteak pie.

WTF. Anchovies are not an unusual pizza topping?!

Pizza I'm eating tonight!
Only 1% of polled Americans listed Anchovies as a favorite topping and only 10% list it as a loved topping (2nd lowest of all toppings polled).

1% is in the unusual enough territory for me.

omg the anchovies need to be cut into small pieces; even i who love anchovies need to do this, you can just slap a whole salted anchovie there.
