The moon can be a tricky subject due to its color and reflective nature.

Negative... no color adjustments made at all. Only sharpened a little and cropped.

I like the pic... though the red pillow is a little distracting.

You might want to crop that out... apply the rule of thirds to the dog's eye. Have his eye in the upper right cross in the grid. I bet it will pop a lot better.

It is the USS Albacore http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_ALBACORE

It was an experimental sub built in 1952. It is permanently on display in Portsmouth, NH, not far from where it was built.
